Trainee Project Manager: Fire Detection and Protection Projects

Location: London EC4R (3-4 days on site & 1/2 days office based)

The Position
The successful applicant will be responsible for communicating with our clients and staff, upkeeping of our project documentation and delivery on Fire Detection and Protection projects for our Fire business, working with consultants, architects, M&E contractors, main builders, and end users.

The Position

Key Accountabilities
- Build healthy working relationships with all clients and colleagues.
- Assist in developing relationships to win new business
- Develop and maintain project designs ensuring they are compliant with current relevant legislation.
- Produce and issue monthly progress reports to each client on each project.
- Manage the supply chain and variables.
- Manage project H&S and Environmental risks.
- Plan and monitor all aspects of the project at hand.
- Create and update project programmes.
- Develop all quotations for project variations and compensation events.
- Take responsibility for project profitability and WIP.
- Update monthly Cost Analysis
- Produce and submit all project applications and invoices in accordance with associated contract terms.
- Conduct end of project evaluations and prepare and reports for the client and Company.
- Manage labour levels and all contractors involved within the projects.
- Adhere to, develop and maintain the Company ISO9001 paperwork.
- Develop and maintain the project management framework incorporating a review process which is to be reported and discussed internally on a monthly basis.
- Ensure monthly applications and invoices are submitted and then subsequently paid on time

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to discuss detailed matters with people with limited exposure to technical detail.
- Experienced Project Leader with Fire/smoke controls/Sprinkler experience.
- Technically astute.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel if required.
- Ideally will hold either appropriate LPC qualifications including Basic and Intermediate Sprinkler Design with an FHC Certificate, recent FIA training, will be a registered Fire Risk Assessor, or be conversant with smoke controls and the associated regulations.
- Experience of JCT and ideally NEC3 Contracts
