Company Description:  One of the UK’s premier electrical distributors, powering everything from construction sites to government projects. Renowned for their unbeatable product range, top-tier customer service, and dedication to staff growth, they’ve built a nationwide network of over 240 branches. With massive stock availability and rapid same-day delivery, they keep the UK switched on and running—fast.

Role: We’re looking for a highly organised, proactive, and detail-driven Regional Secretary / Personal Assistant to support the Regional Director and wider team. This is a key role in ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly, priorities stay on track, and the region is set up for continued success.
You'll provide a high level of administrative and organisational support — from diary coordination and task prioritisation, to preparing documents and maintaining personnel files. You'll also act as a detail-focused gatekeeper, spotting gaps and inefficiencies before they become problems, and getting involved in wider operational activity where needed.
This role suits someone who thrives in a structured yet varied environment — a confident multitasker who is calm under pressure, personable, and unflappable when handling director-level workloads. Above all, discretion and professionalism are critical — you’ll be trusted with highly sensitive information and expected to always act with complete confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct administrative and organisational support to the Regional Director
  • Manage a busy and dynamic diary, prioritising tasks and scheduling with accuracy
  • Gather and prepare documents, files, reports, and presentations ahead of key meetings or activities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel files
  • Approve personal expenses and mileage claims for managers in line with policy
  • Coordinate and prepare for key events including:
    • Manager meetings
    • Training Events
    • Regional customer events and hospitality functions
  • Organise venues, catering, accommodation, attendee lists and follow-ups for events and meetings
  • Act as a gatekeeper — ensuring information is complete, accurate, and delivered efficiently
  • Identify and close gaps in processes or communication
  • Handle confidential data, personnel matters, and sensitive information with the utmost discretion
  • Support wider operational or project-based tasks across the region as needed
  • Provide flexible support around critical periods of the year (e.g., forecasting, year-end, mid-term reviews)
  • Liaise with colleagues at all levels, ensuring smooth information flow

Person & Skills Required:

  • Ideally located in the Solihull area
  • Previous experience in a PA, EA, or senior administrative role
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (especially Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Experience managing diaries, meetings, and coordinating multiple projects or events
