Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor
Berkhamstead, Hertfordshire

Salary & Benefits: 
  • £36,000 per annum negotiable, depending on experience

Hours: 7:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday  
Location: Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire 
 
Company Description:  Privately held electrical distribution company specialising in Green Energy products. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor to join their team in Berkhamsted, offering excellent career progression and employee training opportunities. 

Role Overview
 
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the safe receipt, storage, movement, and timely dispatch of goods while ensuring high standards of health and safety, stock accuracy, operational efficiency, and quality control. Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, the role requires strong leadership, sound decision-making skills, and the ability to maintain smooth warehouse operations within a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate must be reliable, punctual, highly motivated, and exceptionally organised, with a strong and confident personality capable of leading by example and making effective decisions under pressure. This role requires an individual who can remain calm in demanding situations, communicate effectively across all levels, and adapt quickly to changing operational priorities.

​Skills and Experience Required 
  • Logistics and Transport Management experience desirable  
  • Full UK Driving Licence required  
  • Reach Forklift Licence preferred (training can be provided)  
  • Proven experience implementing operational improvements, procedures, standards, and systems  
  • Demonstrable achievements in increasing productivity, implementing cost-saving strategies, and reducing waste  
  • Health & Safety training and awareness  
 
 
Key Responsibilities 
  • Take full accountability for the smooth and efficient running of warehouse operations including stock management, special orders, goods inward processing, picking and packing, dispatch, and delivery functions  
  • Coordinate and organise same-day courier requirements using appropriate vehicle solutions including 18ft, 7.5-tonne, and articulated (Arctic) vehicles, ensuring cost-effective and timely transport arrangements  
  • Research and identify efficient shipping methods and carriers to optimise transport and delivery performance  
  • Continuously review and improve warehouse procedures and operational standards to increase productivity, minimise waste, and maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment  
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure warehouse operations align with wider business objectives  
  • Manage and control perpetual stocktaking processes in accordance with company procedures  
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety regulations and quality standards  
  • Support and implement continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse and logistics functions
