Business Development Executive
Salary & Benefits:
Hours: 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday with an hour for lunch

The business supplies into the electrical wholesale marketplace, data infrastructure installers and industrial end users and are part of a significant, privately owned group of companies, employing over 2,000 people throughout the UK.

This is a management team entry level role and as such, the candidate must be able to lead by example and pro-actively develop the Business Development function within the company.

- £45,000 negotiable, depending on experience

Role:
- Creating the strategy and plan to develop and lead the internal business development team, focused on pro-actively building customer relationships and business levels and working within a defined target list of new and existing customers
- Working on groups of customers that already have group agreements in place and proactively calling new and dormant customers
- Selling existing products to customers that are already purchasing from an alternative source
- Forecasting and sales planning
- Answering telephone enquiries, raising quotations & following up, processing orders and handling ordering queries.
- Building product and brand awareness with customers
- Some external customer meetings may be necessary but not common
Person & Skills Required:
- Significant telephone sales experience, ideally in the data networking and/or electrical wholesale markets but not essential
- Full product and market training will be provided, but it would be advantageous to have experience of the UK Electrical Wholesale market and the market dynamics that operate within
- Experience of managing an internal sales team with the potential to develop into more wider functions within the business management team and supporting the General Manager
- Successful track record in managing customers, sales performance and internal teams
- Experienced in using CRM systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A positive, hardworking, can-do attitude with the ability to work under pressure
- Dynamic with a good sense of humour and a passion for achievement and success
- Customer service focused approach
- Experienced in Microsoft Suite (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Teams)
- Attention to detail and organised
- Team player
- This role will require a hard-working and likeable individual, who will grow relationships and offer exceptional levels of customer service to their diverse customer base
