Warehouse & Logistics Manager 

Salary & Benefits:

  • £27,000 to £30,000 per annum negotiable, depending on experience

Hours: 7:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday and alternate Saturdays 8:30am to 11:00am (paid overtime)
Location: Rugby, Warwickshire
Company Description:  A privately held electrical distribution company incorporated in 1991, specialising in the distribution of Green Energy products. Due to the continuing success of the business and to drive further expansion, they now have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse & Logistics Manager to join their team in Rugby.

Role: The Warehouse Manager will oversee the safe receipt, storage, retrieval, and timely despatch of goods. Ensuring that workplace health & safety requirements are met, quality standards are maintained, and stock is correctly allocated within the warehouse.
 
Person: You must be reliable and punctual, highly self-motivated and organised. Required to oversee all operations in a large warehouse, reporting to the Branch Manager.
You must also have the following attributions:
  • A minimum of 3 years’ Logistics & Transport Management Experience
  • A full UK Driving Licence
  • Reach Forklift Licence preferable but training will be given
  • Good organisational and communication skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Proven track record of implementing improvement procedures, standards and systems
  • A methodical and thorough approach to work
  • A strong attention to detail
  • An ability to prioritise workload and stay calm under pressure
  • Demonstrable achievements in increasing productivity, cost saving strategies and reducing waste
  • Health & Safety training
Duties:
  • Accountable for the smooth operation of the warehouse function which includes stock, specials, goods in, picking & packing, despatch and delivery
  • Research ideal shipping techniques, routing, and carriers
  • Continuously improve warehouse operation policies through warehouse standards, reduce wastage and improve efficiency, ensuring a tidy and well organised warehouse
  • Coordination with other departments to ensure warehouse is managed in accordance with the overall business objectives
  • Control and manage the perpetual stocktake in accordance with company procedures
