Trainee Warehouse & Trade Counter Manager
 

Salary: £24,000 to £27,000 negotiable, depending on experience plus profit sharing scheme & contributory pension scheme
Location: Southall, Middlesex
Hours: 7:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday & 1 Saturday morning per month (8:00am to 12:00pm-paid overtime)
Company Description:
A well-established Nationwide Electrical Distributor are looking for a Trainee Warehouse Manager to help manage their warehouse and trade counter at their centre in Southall . The business provides a wide range of products to customers, from their trade counter and by daily delivery service.

Essential Skills:
 
  • A minimum of 2 years’ background of general warehouse experience
  • Trade Counter experience preferred but training provided (Electrical Wholesale, Building or Plumbing Trade preferred)
  • Good organisational and communication skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • A methodical and thorough approach to work
  • An ability to prioritise workload and stay calm under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail & very organised
  • A positive and hardworking attitude
  • Flexible and adaptive personality
  • Reliable and punctual, self-motivated and enthusiastic with a solid work ethic and a “can do” attitude whilst being a team player who enjoys a busy and productive working environment
  • Forklift License preferred but training will be given
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
  • To oversee the safe receipt, storage, retrieval, and timely despatch of goods, ensuring that workplace health & safety requirements are met, quality standards are maintained, and stock is correctly allocated within the warehouse
  • Assisting with the smooth operation of the warehouse including stock rotation, goods in/out, picking & packing, despatch and delivery
  • To help continuously improve Health & Safety standards, reduce wastage and improve efficiency, ensuring a tidy and well organised warehouse
  • Coordination with other departments to ensure warehouse is managed efficiently
  • Control and manage the Annual stocktakes in accordance with company procedures
  • Serving customers on the busy trade counter, managing customer enquiries and orders
  • Building, developing and managing relationships with customers
  • Re-stocking shelves and keeping the trade counter tidy, organising promotions and special offers
