​Trade Counter Assistant
 
Salary: £23,000 to £27,000, depending on experience plus profit sharing scheme & contributory pension scheme, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
Location: St Neots, Cambridgeshire
Hours: 7:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday & 8:00am to Midday Saturdays (Occasional, paid overtime)

Essential Skills:

  • Trade Counter experience in Electrical Wholesale preferred but will consider candidates with Building or Plumbing Trade experience
  • Good organisational and communication skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • A methodical and thorough approach to work
  • An ability to prioritise workload and stay calm under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail & very organised
  • A positive and hardworking attitude
  • Flexible and adaptive personality
  • Reliable and punctual, self-motivated and enthusiastic with a solid work ethic and a “can do” attitude whilst being a team player who enjoys a busy and productive working environment
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Serving customers on the busy trade counter, managing customer enquiries and orders
  • Building, developing and managing relationships with customers
  • Re-stocking shelves and keeping the trade counter tidy, organising promotions and special offers
  • Ensure excellence in customer service and operational standards
  • Supporting the Trade Counter Manager with actions and activities on time
  • Compliance with Health and Safety, company policies and procedures
