Purchasing Assistant – Electrical Industry
Salary: £25,000 to £30,000 negotiable, depending on experience plus excellent profit share scheme, pension scheme & 25 days holiday + bank holidays
Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday
Location: Twickenham, Middlesex

Person: Ideally from the Electrical industry with an inventory control background you will have a demonstrable track record of success in a similar role. Effective communication with fellow staff and suppliers' representatives is a key ability, as are professional negotiating skills.
We are looking for an energetic team player with excellent attention to detail, who enjoys working to strict deadlines and managing multiple tasks whilst at the same time building quality relationships with suppliers and colleagues.

Role & Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing an unrivalled service in all area of the Purchasing function, where the focus is “Customer First”
- Feedback market intelligence to the Purchasing Manager and Branch Manager
- Placing orders with suppliers at the lowest cost, appropriate to quality with on-time delivery
- Ensuring that all purchase orders, quotations, telephone enquiries, deliveries, supplier invoices and invoice queries are processed accurately and within the agreed timescales
- Working closely with the Purchasing Manager and developing an effective relationship with all members of staff and suppliers to ensure excellent communication
- Proactively participating in all profit improvement initiatives
- Communicate/liaise and build relationships with suppliers to ensure they meet the company’s requirements and that procedures and administration of paperwork is managed effectively & efficiently
- To follow business systems and procedures and contribute to continuous improvement process
- To participate in meetings with internal colleagues and suppliers as and when required
- To undertake any tasks as reasonably requested by the Purchasing Manager or Branch Manager
