Domestic Electrical Tester – Full Time, Permanent

Salary & Benefits: £32,000-£40,000 per year. This is a PAYE position and uniform, company van or generous van allowance, fuel card, iPad, holiday allowance & company pension will be provided.
Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm with optional out of hours work
Location: Based in South East London, covering the whole of the South East area of the UK including Kent, West & East Sussex, Essex, Surrey & all London areas.
Company Description: M&E contractor with an excellent reputation in Electrical installations, ensuring professionalism and reliability to an impressive range of clients in the domestic, commercial and industrial sectors.  Working on Domestic, Commercial, Maintenance, Fire Alarms/Emergency Lighting and EV Charging Contracts and operating with a fleet of Electrical Engineers in London and the South East.

Role:
An exciting position has become available for a number of Testing Electricians to join a friendly team based in South East London, however the contracts all tend to be based in London or the surrounding areas. There will be no fixed area for works so you must be prepared to travel anywhere in the London region.
We are looking for electricians who are able to start immediately or within a couple of weeks ideally but we can be flexible for the right candidate.
 
Person:
  • The ideal candidates will be fully qualified with a minimum of 2 years’ experience
  • Commercial Project experience, Domestic Electrical Testing experience and Street Lighting. Ideally the candidates will have experience in all these areas but not essential
  • Experience in testing but a 2391 (or equivalent) qualification is NOT essential but would be beneficial
  • Candidates must have experience in Fault Finding
 
Key Responsibilities: 
  • The Company has several projects commencing ranging from School Works, Lateral Mains and Emergency Lighting upgrades and FRA works
  • The Company has several Housing Association contracts which require testing and upgrades to domestic properties and communal areas. All test certification is carried out on a tablet (iPad), so a knowledge of form filling is essential (help and training will be provided if necessary)
  • The type of work varies from Fuse Board Changes to Kitchen Rewire, Full Rewires and Accessory Changes through to Reactive Maintenance & Project Works
  • The work varies from changing light fittings, switches and sockets etc through to Rewires and Distribution Board changes. We also do communal works and street lighting repairs and upgrades
  • If commercial works are limited, the Company is able to provide works on the Testing or Maintenance Project thus they are never in a position of having to let people go once a project comes to an end
 
Progression can be obtained through performance and the continued growth of the business. This is proven through several contracts’ managers having worked their way up from the tools.
